It might seem like a basic piece of advice but investing in good skincare products is priority to feeling and looking good. It’s no secret when seasons change, our skincare routines should change as well, (but I realise it’s easier said then done) and swapping skincare products is essential for the change in weather.
With that you want to ensure you’re using products that keep your skin both hydrated and moisturised. I know that sounds confusing, but yes, hydrated skin and moisturised skin are two totally different things. Dehydrated skin lacks water and needs to be hydrated, while dry skin lacks oil and needs to be moisturised and you should consider products that can target either of those concerns or both. Here you’ll find some of my own recommendations for getting your skin summer ready.
Late last year I discovered the brand Crabtree & Evelyn and fell with the brand, not only because of how lush their products are but that they’re against testing on animals. With that I narrowed down three of my favourite products to tackle dry and dehydrated skin.
The Nantucket Briar Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy, Mini, which is formulated with shea butter and macadamia seed oil. The product also contains heather and rosehip extracts which gives your hands the extra boost. I find this hand cream to be so rich and luxurious (and what I love most is that it leaves no greasy residue) it’ll care for your hands, cuticles and nails too. I leave the hand cream on my desk at work (often my colleagues help themselves to it, how generous of me!) and by the sink at home. The moisturiser is the right balance of a subtle, clean scent and a rich texture that sinks in and protects skin.
Something that’s so close to my heart – flowers. And I of course think of floral scents when buying most of my beauty products, particularly shower gels. The Nantucket Briar Bath and Shower Gel provides a light and fresh floral fragrance when I shower first thing. It’s a multi-purpose product, which means if I fancy a long hot bath I can use the product to provide the lovely bubbles too.
A great way to make your skincare work better is to properly prep the skin, and I find using the Nantucket Briar Scented Body Lotion softens the skin too and really moistures it. Again, this product contains a beautiful floral scent blended with rosehip, heather extracts, shea butter, almond and coconut oils. I typically apply this lotion after every shower.
My skin has benefited from using these products and for those of you unaware of this brand I would recommend looking into the Crabtree & Evelyn Nantuket range. Obviously, everybody’s skin is different, and what works for one person might not work for someone else. Bear in mind the brand offers a range of products, which you might find more appealing and suitable to your own skin challenges.
Let me know if you’ve used any of the Crabtree & Evelyn products before, and which ones have been your favourites. TD xx
