Cutting my hair was one of the biggest decisions I’ve ever had to make!
I don’t know about you, but I find it so difficult when it comes to cutting my hair! After not having my hair cut for almost six months I knew it needed to be done and had a rough idea of the style that I wanted. I spent months going back and forth debating whether to take the plunge and go for a drastic change or whether to play it safe and keep my long locks!
Having had long hair for years, my biggest concern was that I would lose a huge part of myself, your hair can become your safety blanket and the thought of cutting my hair off only to not like the style and regret cutting it, petrified me! I also had to accept that once I had made this huge decision it would take a LONG time for my hair to grow the length it once was.
So as a little encouragement I figured if I’m going to take such a huge step and cut my hair I would do it for an amazing cause and donate my hair to the Little Princesses Trust (full story is available here). Much to my surprise the support and encouragement I received was phenomenal and it made the whole process less daunting and easier to deal with. The responses I had on the day of my big chop was mind blowing!
Fast forward to now, it’s been almost two months since cutting my hair and honestly, it’s changed my life in more ways than I had imagined. I’ve entered a new phase in my life and with this new hair I feel chic, edgy, confident and I’m really enjoying the versatility! I find myself curating different styles to suit my new hair and I’m absolutely loving the fact I can style my hair within minutes.
This may sound rather ridiculous, but I believe your hair holds so much energy, after cutting my hair I instantly felt like I had stepped out of my comfort zone and finally let go of all the negative energy. My new hairdo has really refreshed my whole outlook to life including my wardrobe of course. All I can say is, if I can do it, so can you, and I would encourage anyone to do so! It’s such an exciting feeling to embrace change and it gives such a huge boost to your confidence. I can’t stress this enough but we all need a little change at some point in our lives and there’s no better time than now. Why wait? Do it!
If you’re wondering where I cut my hair! I have my haircut from Limoz at the Limoz Logli Hair and Beauty in Chelsea, London.
